Preserved revision-stage report. Some manuscript pointers and version labels reflect an earlier writing stage. Use the current study and research record for the final interpretation.
What was missing, in order
- Valid held-out evaluation. Shared task partitions, train-only transformations, validation-only layer selection, and corrected date parsing are more urgent than additional architectural experiments. V2 implements and verifies these fixes.
- A claim supported by the corrected results. Remove the old 0.834 ID result and +0.380 improvement claim; avoid universal architectural superiority and causal disentanglement claims. The revised manuscript does this.
- Comparable label access and interpretable ablations. Full U/T/I factorial; matched single-channel and concatenation controls; actual swap; stronger AVES backbone adaptation. V3 completed and verified these.
- Robustness and uncertainty. Three repeated random and grouped evaluations, conditional date-cluster bootstrap intervals, support counts, and within-unit probes. Include 8/16-kHz sensitivity.
- An integrated, correct paper. Unify the conference source, rebuild references, render the official template, and provide a point-by-point response. Preserve the original report version and experiment history.
- External validation. New populations, verified sessions, and excluded pretraining overlap require evidence outside the existing workspace. Treat these as limitations and future work, not as results that local computation can manufacture.
The other agent's priorities were directionally sound, but the source audit uncovered actual train/test exposure and implementation mismatches. Those are stronger reasons to replace the old numerical claims than a generic concern about confidence intervals or unequal supervision.
